Established over two decades ago, Lafem Engineering has grown ! Over these years, it has conquested important customers in its market: commercial, industrial, corporate and residential constructions. With its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and renowned by its excellence in customer service, Lafem lived the paradigm of managing success.

In 2007, the company registered a growth of 36% in closed contracts, with a renowned clientele satisfied with its services. A significant raise in commercial proposal was also noticed.

Obtaining the ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2005 and having a research result signaling 92% of employee satisfaction, a question came up: how to inspire the quest for superior performance in a company in which the expansion happens at a two digit scale per year?

Based upon this challenge, the partners Fernando Lima, Paulo Renato and Roberto Seabra began a "Journey Towards Superior Performance". The Journey is based in the process of creating new leaderships, which are responsible for involving all Lafem work force in internal and external organization issues.

Created in July/2007, Lafem Managing Committee is formed by its partners and the organization's new leaderships. The group is responsible for planning and controlling the company's internal projects. The managers are responsible for making sure the projects are implemented masterly, with all staff involved, including the workers at civil constructions. Besides that, the group has as one of its duties to communicate and to disseminate the strategies, plans and guidelines from the Board of Directors to all of the staff, being the multipliers of the participative managing process.

This way, LAFEM has been able to overcome the paradigm that when things are well, they can still get better. Lafem's Superior Performance is everyone's commitment.
